Colombia is a country in South America. This nation has a population of about 41 million people. There are many economic and other advantages to living in this country. If you are planning a trip to Colombia, you can apply for a visa to live and work in the US for a period of time.
You need a visa to travel to USA, are you a Colombian citizen?
The United States is known for its high standards of living, powerful economy, and safe and friendly people. However, it is also one of the most costly and difficult countries for foreign citizens to live in. One of the most important aspects of the American immigration system is citizenship. The United States is not a country for tourists or tourists are not permitted to visit the United States without a visa. Citizens of Colombia and other Latin American countries such as Mexico and Brazil need a visa to visit the United States. However, they can also apply for a visa exemption that allows them to visit the United States for up to 90 days.
If you are a Colombian citizen, can you travel to USA now?
The U.S. has imposed travel restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. That means that Colombian citizens, including citizens with valid visas, can’t enter the country. And U.S. citizens who are currently in Colombia don’t need a visa to enter the country. The restrictions are in place until the country completes a 20-day quarantine of incoming passengers. Colombia has so far not been severely impacted by the coronavirus. The country has not reported any cases of the virus. And there have been no confirmed cases of the virus among residents. But the restrictions are effective at stopping the spread of the virus. And U.S. citizens must adhere to them when they travel to Colombia.
Immigrating to USA
Since February 2019, the US citizens are no longer barred from entering Colombia with a valid passport from the following countries: Bahamas, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States. However, in order to enter the US, you have to fill out an I-94W form. This form is only needed if you are travelling by air, not on a land border. Plus, US citizens will need to pay the land border processing fee of up to US$14. On the other hand, the same is not true for citizens of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, and Venezuela. In these cases, you will not need to pay any additional fee for crossing the border into the US. Moreover, if you are over the age of 59, you will not need to pay the fee.

The US issued an entry ban for travellers from seven countries in May last year. With Mexico and Canada already covered by the ban, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and Haiti were added to the list in September. The ban affects travellers from those countries who want to enter the United States. The ban is indefinite, and it is unclear when it will be lifted. El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras were given a temporary waiver in January, but it only applies for 60 days and the US is currently reviewing the situation. Those countries have to apply for a new waiver by mid-April. If they are approved, they will then be covered by the ban. If they are not approved, they will be subject to the ban for the next 60 days, after which they have to apply for a new waiver.
